Oregano is a staple on many spice racks and is a popular seasoning.

In recent years, oregano oil has become a popular choice for Canadians to help fight cold & flu viruses, and for good reason!

Oregano is naturally potent in antioxidants and has powerful antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties and a potent active compound, carvacrol – a terpene –is concentrated in their oil. This is what gives oregano its characteristic, warm odor and therapeutic benefits.

Carvacrol has concentrated antioxidant effects on the body, protecting cells from free radical damage and has been shown in studies to have anti-viral activity that can be helpful in treating the symptoms of cold and flu.

Made from certified organic oregano, our oregano oils provide a potent, antioxidant rich essential oil containing a minimum of 72% carvacrol.

They are blended with certified organic extra virgin olive oil and are available in two strengths: 1:3 and extra strength 1:1 ratios. Packaged in amber glass to help preserve its medicinal benefits.

Take 2-3 drops 3-4 times daily in a little water, juice, or milk (helps to cut the intensity of the pungent oil) and is best taken at first sign of cold or flu symptoms.

Oregano and Sinusitis

Sinusitis, or inflammation of the mucous membranes in the sinuses is a common cause of secondary infection during cold & flu season. The unique blend of antimicrobial oils in Congestion AidTM gelcaps can also help to alleviate mucus congestion and inflammation and combined with our Sinafect® tincture – it is an effective tool for fighting both chronic and acute sinus infection!

For acute sinusitis or sinus infection (less than 4 weeks) : Take just under 1/2 teaspoon (2mL) of Sinafect® 3 times a day with a little water at the onset and for the duration of symptoms.

For chronic sinusitis (longer than 4 weeks): Rotate Sinafect® with Congestion AidTM (1 gelcap three times daily) every 2 weeks (i.e., 2 weeks on Sinafect®, 2 weeks on Congestion AidTM)
