Frequently Asked Questions
General Questions
Where can I find your products?
Our products are available in Natural Health Food Stores, Grocery stores, and on-line retailers across Canada. We also sell our products on our own website! To find a retailer near you, please visit our store locator.
Why is there alcohol in your tinctures?
A medicinal herb consumed raw is typically hard for the body to assimilate. That’s why we have tinctures. For centuries, both water and alcohol have been necessary when it comes to unlocking all the active ingredients of a raw herb and making them fully bioavailable. A solution of water alone is not enough. In addition, alcohol stabilizes a herb and acts as a preservative. If, however, you want to remove the alcohol in a tincture, simply bring some water to a boil. Take the boiling water off the stove, add your dose of tincture, and let the water sit for ten minutes or so. This will evaporate most of the alcohol.
Your products only have dosages listed for Adults, can I give them to my children?
If we do not have a dosage listed for your child’s age, we do not recommend giving the product to your child without first consulting with your Healthcare Practitioner or Naturopathic Doctor.
Do I have to take my tinctures on an empty stomach?
Taking a tincture on an empty stomach is to facilitate quicker absorption by the body. You can take the tincture anytime up to five minutes before a meal. If you need to take it after a meal, it’s ideal if you wait a couple of hours. If this is not possible, it is better to take your tincture as you are able rather than not at all.
Are your products available outside of Canada
We do not sell our products outside of Canada.
I see sediment in my tincture, is this normal?
Sedimentation, or precipitation is a normal, naturally occurring event in most tinctures. This can happen after the product has been filtered and bottled and occurs when substances become separated out of a solution. If the product is shaken, these particles can result in the product appearing cloudy. All our tinctures are manufactured by traditional means and precipitation is a natural and safe by-product.
Are your products Canadian?
We are proudly Canadian for over 30 years! All our tinctures and capsules are made in Canada with herbs that are sourced from Canada where possible and globally for those that are not native to Canada.
